So I Am A Shitty Blogger/Human Being.

LIFE!!!

So, sorry to be such a flake on here. What can I say, I am a shitty blogger/human being. In my defense I am trying my best to refine, redefine, and walk the thin line, but do I get caught up from time to time. Anyway, for all of those who don't know, I've started my travel nursing career and been making that rough transition from being a complete pile to a productive member of society.

My first assignment is down in Shreveport, Louisiana- straight up dirty dirty, y'all. Evidently the Shreve. is America's 99th largest city and the capital of Ark-La-Tex, a region of the United States that God has clearly forsaken. A nice little gray area of humanity that mixes together Cajun, Southern, and Southwestern flavor into something uniquely generic. I'd probably be down if I was into Walmart, Chain Restaurants, or Casinos, liked driving everywhere, and didn't hate killing animals and fish for sport. But as much as I try to emulate the southern accent, I can't shake my Yankee city-boy mentality.

Anyway, if I do come across something worth sharing about this place, I will be sure to blog about it sooner than later. I feel like I've already started forgetting about my time here, and I'm sure that after I actually leave, I won't try to remember anything Shreveport. Not to be a complete hater, I am reading a lot, going to the gym 3-4 times a week, and am saving a ton of money by not going out, which is good. So the lack of distractions is not such a terrible thing. Also, the people down here have been super friendly so far, I have made a couple of friends here and there, but also am starting to fear that some of this benevolent behavior is duplicitous.

MAXwell and SILVIO!!!

For all my Maxwell heads, yes Silvio is still in the mix, the onions is still sweet, and them peppers is still pure fire. And fuck an air freshener when you can have that Maxwell stank in your whip for days.

MUSIC!!!

So, for all you that don't know J-Dilla WAS one of the best producers ever. Most famous for his production for Slum Village and his collaborations with Mad Lib, Dilla definitely made some of the smoothest and most rhythmically complex music ever, on some less is more shit. Unfortunately he lost a long battle to lupus and died of kidney failure a little more than two years ago. On some what the fuck is wrong with this world, J-Dilla's poor moms is still struggling to keep up with her payments for debt incurred during her son's hospitalization, while living in the hood and working full time as daycare provider. Anyway, to keep people aware of the J-Dilla Cause Okayplayer and DJ Soul put out this nice mixtape of some of his rarer remixes and snippets of more obscure production. And if you got some extra cheddar and feel like being a good human being donate money directly to Dilla's moms or fuck with some of these various promotional fundraisers rolling around.
